Why, you ask? Because a once-in-a-lifetime "Battle of Swing" was underway: the Savoy's house band, under the direction of Chick Webb, was set to lock horns with Count Basie, the "Aristocrat of Rhythm" himself! And if that weren't reason enough to join the crush of lindy hoppers on the dance floor, this head-to-head battle meant rising stars Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday would be taking turns, dueling at the mic!

And now this eyecatching poster — with its beautiful vintage hand-lettering and distinctive indigo, yellow, and black color palette — has gotten the full "SecondTakeJazzArt treatment" and been lovingly restored to its former glory!
