With a soulful touch that bridged the worlds of jazz, funk, gospel, and R&B, Ramsey Lewis's "The In Crowd" became a breakout smash hit in 1965, soaring to #1 on the Billboard R&B album chart and #2 on the top 200 album chart — and the title track single hit #2 on the R&B singles chart and #5 on the Hot 100 Singles charts!

This fun poster authentically leans into the "spooky" underground cave motifs the Caverns used to publicize its bookings and was meticulously derived from existing ads, signage, and other ephemera for the popular DC nightspot. And dig that rusty red brick color! A great choice for fans of the "dirty blues" school of jazz piano popularized in the 60s by players like Ramsey Lewis, Les McCann, and others.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_In_Crowd_(Ramsey_Lewis_album)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramsey_Lewis

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0636/4410/6918/files/Lewis_Ramsey-TheInCrowd-BohemianCaverns-WashingtonDC-1965-05_18x24_v01-mockupB-1x1.jpg?v=1791584269
https://secondtakejazzart.com/products/ramsey-lewis-jazz-poster-the-in-crowd-bohemian-caverns-washington-dc-1965
